Explore New Avenues with the Tech of Laser Engraving
Noufal Picloon was employed at the well-known TV channel, MediaOneTV, for four years, starting in 2011 when the channel was launched. However, he began to feel the urge to step out of his comfort zone and explore new avenues beyond his job.
"A colleague at the office introduced me to GCC laser engraving machines and their various applications. Given my passion for design and crafting, I saw the potential to create unique and creative products using this technology," Noufal said.
Motivated by this idea, Noufal started a business with friends but faced challenges during India's demonetization crisis in 2016. The business had to be paused to care for the individual's father after he had a stroke. In 2018, the business was restarted with two friends under the name Picloon, but initially, lower-cost laser machines were used that couldn't match the performance of the GCC Laser machine especially for detailed photo engraving.
Recognizing the need to improve the work's quality, after three years of operating Picloon, the team invested in a new GCC Spirit LS Laser Machine. This marked a significant step forward in enhancing the precision and quality of their products. At Picloon, the primary focus is on crafting exceptional gifts, particularly customized ones. The team firmly believes in the power of gifting to strengthen human relationships, and this belief drives their vision: "Strengthening Human Relationships." Using laser technology, they specialize in producing creative and uniquely personalized gifts.

What are your prospects for the laser business?
In a remarkably short period, Picloon has established a prominent presence in the Indian gifting industry. Their unwavering commitment to product quality and uniqueness has propelled them to the position of market leader. The exceptional gifts produced with the GCC Spirit LS have played a pivotal role in achieving this distinction. Looking ahead, an ambitious plan is in place to make these stunning gifts accessible across India. The "Shop in Shop" Franchise plan marks the initial phase of this endeavor.
"With just one advertisement about this plan, we received approximately 300 franchise inquiries from various districts within our home state of Kerala. In a matter of weeks, we successfully launched five franchise shops. We plan to have 50 franchise shops by the end of this year." Noufal said.
In the future, the company plans to scale up and set up more franchises, which will be overseen by the master unit that acts as a production center. By 2025, they aim to have two more master units in India, each supporting 150-200 shop-in-shop franchisees. For long-term planning, they hope to expand their successful model to countries such as the United States or Saudi Arabia.
